PROJECT IMAGINE

IMAGINE the possibilities one square at a time

OUR MISSION

To bring hope, love, and comfort to chemotherapy/ Mental  Health patients with a handmade crochet/knitted blanket made by many hands.

Take a moment to think about each person that steps into a room filled with recliners to receive chemotherapy, some for the very first time.  Imagine the emotions that are flooding through them. Take another moment to think about a person that is struggling with Mental Health issues it's very real, far greater than we can imagine. Now IMAGINE being given a gift of a crocheted/knitted blanket made by many hands. A gift that says "you are not alone through this journey".  This blanket represents love, compassion and many prayers for the recipient. IMAGINE the possibility of people coming together to create these crocheted/knitted squares. Each one unique. Each one made with love.

WHO WE ARE

IMG_7745.jpg

We are two friends passionate about helping others battling cancer and Mental Health.  This has impacted both our lives over the years from family members, friends, and through our own personal struggles. During these times we realized how important having support from others was.  We wanted to show this support to people in these areas and decided to do this through handmade knitted/crocheted blankets. These blankets let  patients know that they are special, unique and one of a kind. We want them to know they are not alone on their journey. We believe that many hands can accomplish great things, and many hands will help Project Imagine be a success.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

It Starts With the Will to Make a Difference

Our goal is to collect as many 9"x 9" squares as possible to be stitched into blankets.  It takes 20 - 9" squares to make a blanket to cover a patient receiving chemotherapy and to bring comfort to patients at the Mental Health Unit.  The squares will be stitched together by volunteers to create a one of a kind blanket, for each patient. The patients will also receive a card with all the contributors to the blanket, showing them the love and support they have through their journey.

Crochet or knit as many squares as you possibly can. Make a square in honor of a loved one battling cancer, a loved one struggling with mental health or one who is up in heaven. Talk to your friends, family members, co-workers church members ...etc. Send one or send a bundle. We can arrange bundle pickups in the Niagara region.

GET INVOLVED

If you crochet/knit we need you.  It doesn't matter the color or size of the yarn or the pattern you make as long as the yarn is machine washable.  Pattern size must be 9" x  9". Ladies, children, and men can do this, it's that easy to make a difference.
